Slow Cooker Chili

The month of March has been the first time where I decided to plan out our dinners for the week. It has made it a lot easier in terms of purchasing groceries, not having waste and trying new meals. Tonight I made chili for the first time. I'm rather impressed the way it came out. The whole family loved it!

3 tbsp olive oil 
1 pound ground beef 
1 cup yellow onion, chopped (about 1/2 large onion)
3 tbsp chili powder
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
1 tbsp garlic powder 
1 tsp cumin
1 28ounce can diced tomatoes
1 8ounce can tomato sauce
1 16ounce can kidney beans, drained

* Add 1 tbsp olive oil in frying pan. Brown beef. Set aside.
* Add 2 tbsp olive oil and the rest of the ingredients plus cooked ground beef to slow cooker.
* Let cook for 3-4 hours. 
* Hubby added cheese, sour cream and Fritos to his bowl while I added cheese, sour cream and sliced baguette to mine.
