Memorial Day Weekend in Atlanta

Thursday, May 28, 2015

Over Memorial Day weekend our family went to Atlanta. My husbands friend from high school was getting married so it was the perfect time for us to discover the city. I didn't want to bring Hendrix to the wedding so we decided to go to the Georgia Aquarium while hubby attended the wedding. The last time we traveled as a family, Hendrix was 7 months so his diet was completely different. Now that he is 12 months I had to think ahead and plan out what I was going to bring.

I wanted to bring snacks that Hendrix could have while at the airport, on the plane and on the run while around Atlanta. Snacks I packed for the trip were Plum Organics Mighty 4 Essential Nutrition Bar Blueberry with Carrot, raisins, bananas, Happy Munchies Organic Superfoods Rice CakesJustin's Almond Butter Maple Squeeze Packs, and Ella's Kitchen Organic First Tastes 4-flavor Variety Pack (bananas, apples, mangoes, pears). These were easily transportable, healthy snacks. Some of the food Hendrix ate while we were away:
Breakfast- fruit bowls, omelette, Cheerios, pancakes
Lunch- grilled cheese, veggie burger with cheese, fruit, steamed carrots
Dinner- southwestern quesadilla (black beans, corn salsa, chicken), smoothie, meat pasta

I do not know what I would do without this oogaa' Reusable Silicone Placemat! It is such a lifesaver when eating on the go. It's silicone, BPA free and easy to wipe clean with a napkin or baby wipe! The placemat was easily rolled up and thrown into my diaper bag.

The Georgia Aquarium was so much fun! Hendrix seemed very interested in all of the exhibits. I didn't take him to the dolphin show, simply because I knew he couldn't wait in the line and sit throughout the entire show. However he loved looking at the Dolphins in the tank. If you are visiting the Atlanta area, I highly recommend taking time to visit the Georgia Aquarium.

Atlanta was a cool city to visit for the weekend. It was a little empty because of the holiday but we still managed to have a lot of fun. We also visited Phipps Plaza which is a mall in Buckhead. It was a very nice mall, great shopping. After the mall we ate at the Buckhead Diner. Do not let the word "diner" fool you. This place was white table cloths, white glove dining for a reasonable price. Great food and atmosphere. Highly recommend the grilled cheese and tomato soup!
