Gone Fishing

A few weeks back Hendrix was watching an episode of Goldie & Bear where they went fishing. Since then he keeps talking about fishing and goes imaginary fishing all of the time. He reels the fish in, "struggles" with it and everything. It's absolutely adorable! I promised to make him a fishing rod and a few fish, so over the weekend that's exactly what I did.

What You'll Need:
3 Dowels
Twine or string
Magnets
Split rings or paper clips
Foam sheets
Googly eyes
Hot glue gun

Fish: Cut foam sheets into fish shapes. Hot glue googly eyes onto each side of the fish. Using a paper clip or split ring, poke a hole in the fish and slide it through.

Fishing Rods: On one end of the dowel, apply a strand of hot glue about an inch in length. Wrap twine around the dowel, over the glue. Allowing about 12 inches of twine to dangle from the fishing rod, trim and attach magnet.

Super easy and fun activity for kids of all ages. I made 3 fishing rods so we can fish as a family and so this can be on of the activities at Hendrix's Hoedown birthday party in May. Hendrix loves going fishing, and I hope your little ones do too!
